Over 25 years ago, Tom Droog started Alberta Sunflower Seeds Ltd. and began an exciting and successful journey that evolved into Spitz International Inc. It was during this time that the company began to deploy fully automated systems where product was completely processed from truck to a sealed bag. This included full conveyance, scrubbers, cookers, spicers, scales, sealers, and packaging equipment. The most used packaging equipment was a BaggerBoss machine, manufactured by SDS (Inc. 1999). In 2003, Tom purchased SDS and renamed it Boss Packaging Inc.
