Also known as a meat saw, a bandsaw is a continuous band of toothed metal rotating on opposing wheels that is primarily used in lumbering, metalworking, and meat processing but may cut a variety of materials. Most bandsaws have two wheels connected by a belt or chain rotating in the same plane, one of which is powered, although some may have three or four to distribute the workload. Typically an operator will pass product through blade to cut off a specified piece of the product.
